Lieutenant General Zubin A. Minwalla has officially taken over as the Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Operations), following the retirement of Air Marshal Rakesh Sinha, AVSM. After 39 years of dedicated service in the Indian Air Force, Air Marshal Sinha has retired, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and excellence.
In his new role, Lt Gen Minwalla will be instrumental in shaping and executing joint operational plans that are crucial for the collaborative effectiveness of the Indian military. His responsibilities will include formulating and issuing joint operations directives to the Army, Navy, and Air Force, thereby enhancing inter-service cooperation and ensuring seamless coordination during military operations.
The position also requires overseeing the planning and execution of joint military operations in line with directives from the Raksha Mantri. This unified operational approach underscores the importance of integrated defence strategies in addressing the nation’s security challenges.
During a formal handover, Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC), extended his warm congratulations to Lt Gen Minwalla on his new assignment. He also took the opportunity to bid farewell to Air Marshal Rakesh Sinha, recognizing his remarkable career and significant contributions to national defence.
Air Marshal Sinha’s extensive experience and steadfast service were commended, serving as a benchmark of dedication for current and future members of the armed forces. His retirement marks the end of an era that has inspired many within the military community.
