Lt Col Abhishek Ranade of the Army Service Corps has been honored as the Best Student Officer upon the conclusion of the Senior Officers’ Course at the ASC Centre and College in Bengaluru on October 18, 2025. This esteemed program, recognized as one of the Indian Army’s leading training initiatives, aims to bolster the professional capabilities of mid-career officers, arming them with essential knowledge and leadership skills needed to effectively command ASC units during various military operations.
The course saw participation from 18 officers representing the Army Service Corps, alongside an officer from the Botswana Army, highlighting the collaborative efforts in training with friendly foreign nations. The curriculum was meticulously designed to familiarize officers with cutting-edge logistics practices, operational planning, and the latest technological innovations crucial for sustaining military operations in complex and varied environments.
During the valedictory ceremony, Lt Gen JK Gera, Commandant of the ASC Centre and College, delivered an inspiring address, where he congratulated the graduating officers and underscored the necessity of adapting to the rapidly evolving landscape of warfare. He called on the officers to embrace innovation and utilize technology effectively in operational logistics, emphasizing these elements as vital for maintaining operational readiness and efficiency in future missions.
In a display of outstanding performance, Lt Col Abhishek Ranade was recognized as the Best Student Officer of the course. Additionally, Col Sarath Chand Achukolu was awarded the Book Prize for being the Most Innovative and Disruptive Thinker, an accolade that reflects the institution’s commitment to nurturing creativity and original thought among its officers.
