In a significant move to bolster operational readiness, Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, conducted a visit to the Konark Corps. This visit aimed to evaluate the formation’s capabilities and ensure that the Army maintains a high level of preparedness, particularly across India’s challenging western deserts.

During his assessment, the Army Commander received comprehensive briefings on the current operational posture as well as logistics and sustainment measures specifically designed to meet the harsh demands of the desert environment. He expressed his admiration for the Desert Corps’ dedication to integrating indigenous equipment solutions and its emphasis on in-house research and development. The efforts focused on drone technology have been particularly noteworthy, with initiatives significantly improving surveillance, precision, and responsiveness across the formation.

Emphasizing the importance of innovation, Lt Gen Seth praised the Corps for effectively incorporating unmanned systems and locally developed technologies into their operations.
