Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, recently embarked on a visit to the Non Commissioned Officers Academy in Dhana to evaluate the institution’s training efficacy and leadership development programs. This visit underscored the commitment to enhancing the capabilities of Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) in the Indian Army.
During his visit, Lt Gen Seth was briefed by the Commandant on the Academyโs flagship initiative, the Combat Leadership Course. This course is especially tailored for NCOs across all Combat and Combat Support Arms and is designed to meet the complexities of modern warfare and rapidly shifting battlefield conditions. A core focus of the course is on developing tactical proficiency, decision-making skills, and the ability to lead effectively under stressful situations.
Commending the Academy, Lt Gen Seth acknowledged the high standards of training upheld by the institution. He recognized the vital influence of the instructors, who play an essential role in cultivating skilled and future-ready junior leaders within the Army.
In a dialogue with the trainees, the Army Commander emphasized the critical role of technology in training methodologies. He described how technology-enhanced training is key to fostering soldiers who are not only resilient and agile but also prepared for the challenges of contemporary combat environments. Furthermore, Lt Gen Seth reiterated that well-equipped NCOs, possessing modern skills and solid leadership qualities, are fundamental to gaining the upper hand and dominating future battlefields. His visit served as a meaningful reinforcement of the importance of quality training in developing the next generation of military leaders.
