In a significant operational assessment, Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva, the Chief of Staff of Surya Command, conducted a visit to the forward areas in the Kumaon Sector. This visit was primarily focused on the validation of Op Kavach, which is essential for ensuring the operational readiness of the troops stationed in the challenging environment of the high Himalayas. During his visit, Lt Gen Sachdeva evaluated the integration of Next-Generation Equipment (NGEs) that are expected to enhance the combat effectiveness of the soldiers deployed in these strategically vital areas.

Engaging directly with the troops, Lt Gen Sachdeva expressed his admiration for their courage and innovative approaches to overcoming operational challenges. He emphasized the Army’s core ethos of “Service Before Self,” reinforcing the importance of commitment and dedication among the ranks.

Additionally, the Chief of Staff reviewed the ongoing initiatives under Op Sadbhavna. These efforts are geared towards improving education, healthcare, and promoting sustainable tourism in border regions. The programs not only aim to uplift the local communities but also work towards preserving the spiritual and natural heritage of the area. Through these initiatives, the Army seeks to bolster both security and socio-economic development in a region critical to national interests.
