Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni, AVSM, VSM, PhD, the Director General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME, undertook an important visit to the EME School in Vadodara from January 19 to 21, 2026. This visit provided an opportunity for him to assess the institution’s training programs and infrastructure aimed at developing technically proficient personnel for the Indian Army.
During his time at the EME School, Lt Gen Sahni received a detailed briefing on the training curriculum, which is meticulously designed to cultivate battle-ready technical warriors. The program’s emphasis on innovation and the indigenisation of niche technologies was a focal point of the discussions. The integration of Artificial Intelligence into the training framework also stood out as a significant advancement, showcasing the Army’s commitment to staying ahead in modern warfare.
Furthermore, the Director General evaluated the state-of-the-art training infrastructure that supports advanced weapon systems, contemporary vehicle platforms, and modern optronics. This infrastructure plays a crucial role in enhancing the operational readiness of the Army, aligning with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, which emphasizes a robust and self-reliant India.
Commending the faculty and trainees for their hard work and commitment, Lt Gen Sahni acknowledged the EME School’s vital contribution to bolstering the technical capabilities of the Indian Army. He took the opportunity to confer Excellence Awards to several serving soldiers and Civil Defence employees, recognizing their unwavering dedication, professionalism, and exemplary service.
