Meet Lt. Watandeep Singh Sidhu, 3rd Officer From Punjab To Earn Sword Of Honour This Year

Indian Military Academy passing out parade was conducted on 12 December 2020. A total of 395 Gentlemen Cadets of 147 Regular Course and 130 Technical Graduate Course, including 70 Gentlemen Cadets from nine friendly foreign countries, successfully passed out from the portals of Indian Military Academy. The Sword of Honour for the Autumn Term, 2020, was awarded to Lieutenant Watandeep Singh Sidhu during the Passing out Parade (PoP) held at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, on Saturday.

He is the third officer cadet from Punjab to earn the sword of honour this year. In June 2020 Lt Akashdeep Singh won the sword of honour at IMA and In March 2020 Lt. Harpreet won the sword of honour at OTA Chennai. Lt. Watandeep & Lt. Akashdeep have opted for the Parachute Regiment and Lt. Harpreet joined the armoured corps. An alumnus of the Rashtriya Indian Military College, he had joined the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, in November 2016 and after completing the three-year course in 2019, proceeded to the IMA.
