Mobix Labs has successfully secured subcontracts to supply filtered connectors for the esteemed F-22 Raptor program, significantly enhancing the company’s involvement in the provision of essential components for military operations. One of these agreements extends an existing partnership with a current F-22 collaborator, while the other marks a partnership with a new client.
Filtered connectors play a critical role in shielding onboard systems from electromagnetic interference, ensuring the operational integrity of the fighter jet’s electronic warfare capabilities. These components are especially vital in challenging environments where reliable performance is paramount.
The California-based firm is gearing up for production, with the first deliveries anticipated later this year. Phil Sansone of Mobix Labs commented on this expansion, stating, “This expansion reflects increasing demand for high-reliability component solutions supporting active defense platforms. We are focused on executing in areas where our technology supports critical system performance and where reliability directly impacts mission success.”
These new contracts will reportedly quintuple Mobix Labs’ activities related to the F-22, reinforcing its commitment to ongoing support for the platform as it participates in international missions. The F-22 program, which produced around 195 airframes between 2001 and 2012, has seen most of its aircraft repurposed for pilot and aircrew training, while others are currently undergoing modernization efforts.
Operating exclusively under the US Air Force, the Lockheed Martin-built fleet is projected to remain operational into the 2040s, indicating a sustained need for reliable and advanced technological support.
In addition to its contributions to the F-22 program, Mobix Labs is broadening its footprint in various defense sectors. The company is actively involved in the production of Gulfstream Aerospace aircraft, smart munitions, and counter-drone systems, highlighting its diverse capabilities in supporting modern defense initiatives.
