The National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla has successfully hosted the Sabhikhi Cup 2026 from March 17 to March 21, attracting 429 cadets from India’s top pre-commissioning training academies. This year’s tournament marked a significant milestone with the participation of 98 female cadets, reflecting the increasing inclusivity and integration of women in the Armed Forces.
The event encompassed a series of competitive sporting events where cadets showcased outstanding grit, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship in various disciplines, including cross country, football, hockey, volleyball, lawn tennis, and squash.
In a nail-biting football final on March 21, the Indian Military Academy (IMA) located in Dehradun triumphed over NDA to secure the championship. With this victory, IMA also lifted the coveted Sabhikhi Cup Rolling Trophy, emerging as the Overall Champion Academy of the tournament.
The Sabhikhi Cup stands as a testament to NDA’s commitment to promoting inter-service camaraderie, teamwork, and sporting excellence among future military leaders.
