Rafales To Secure Delhi Airspace For G20: The Indian Air Force has put an end to the ongoing Exercise Trishul in the northern sector, as fighter aircraft will not be flying from September 7 to 10. Only the flights of the aircraft participating in Ex Trishul will be halted, according to IAF authorities, while other routine flights will continue.

During this time, the Indian Air Force would begin using its PHALCON AWACS aircraft to monitor the airspace around the country in order to defend the airspace over the national capital region in preparation for the G-20 meeting, according to defence sources.
The Indian Air Force is also deploying Rafale and other fighter jets to advanced air sites to protect the skies over Delhi during the summit. Surface-to-air missile systems have also been relocated to areas near Delhi in order to intercept enemy aircraft or renegade drones.
Since September 4, the Indian Air Force has been conducting a large training operation codenamed Trishul in the northern region along the borders with both China and Pakistan. The drills include all main fleets of fighter aircraft, including the Rafale, Mirage 2000, and Su-30MKIs, as well as heavy-lift transport aircraft and choppers such as the Chinook and Apache. Garud Special Forces are also participating in the drills, which include all aspects of air power.
The exercise began on September 4 and will conclude on September 14 in the northern sector, which includes Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, and Punjab.
