Rear Admiral Manoj Jha, VSM, has officially taken over the position of Chief Staff Officer (Operations) at the Eastern Naval Command (ENC), marking a significant achievement in his distinguished naval career.

Commissioned into the Indian Navy on January 1, 1995, Rear Admiral Jha has a rich educational background, having trained at several esteemed institutions including the Naval Academy in Goa, the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) in Wellington, the Naval War College in Goa, and the prestigious Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) in the United Kingdom.

A Gunnery Specialist by trade, Rear Admiral Jha has commanded multiple frontline warships, highlighting his extensive experience in naval operations. Among his notable commands are the destroyer INS Chennai and the INS Kamorta, where he served as the commissioning Commanding Officer. Additionally, he held the position of Executive Officer onboard the aircraft carrier INS Viraat.

Before stepping into his current role, Rear Admiral Jha was the Assistant Chief of Naval Staff responsible for Communications, Space, and Network-Centric Operations, as well as Commodore (Personnel) at Naval Headquarters. In these capacities, he contributed significantly to developing both operational and personnel policies for the Navy.

With a wealth of experience in command, staff, and instructional roles, Rear Admiral Manoj Jha is set to enhance the operational readiness and maritime capabilities of the Eastern Naval Command, bringing a blend of strategic insight and leadership to the position.
