Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) in Dehradun has achieved a remarkable milestone in the recent UPSC National Defence Academy (NDA) examination, with 22 out of 27 cadets successfully clearing the NDA (II) 2025 written exam. This impressive success rate of 82% is unparalleled, setting RIMC apart from other civil, military, and preparatory institutions across the country.
This accomplishment reinforces RIMC’s long-standing tradition, spanning over a century, of cultivating future military leaders through a rigorous academic framework, disciplined training, and a commitment to holistic development. The strong performance by the cadets is attributed to a comprehensive ecosystem of mentorship and motivation, significantly bolstered by support from the Indian Army and senior defence leadership.
In recent months, influential visits from high-ranking officials such as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and senior commanders have profoundly inspired the cadets. These interactive sessions enabled students to gain valuable insights, motivating them to strive for excellence while embracing the core values of military service.
To further enhance their training and career aspirations, RIMC cadets participated in educational visits to esteemed institutions, including the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune and the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala. These exposure opportunities provided cadets with a first-hand experience of the Armed Forces’ culture, discipline, and leadership standards, fostering a clearer understanding of what it means to be future officers in service to their nation.
Col Rahul Agarwal, Commandant of RIMC, commended the cadets and faculty for their unwavering dedication and hard work. He stated, “At RIMC, we believe in nurturing not just academic excellence but also character, resilience, and leadership potential. The remarkable NDA results are a reflection of our cadets’ perseverance, the faculty’s mentorship, and an institutional ecosystem that prepares them for the highest levels of military leadership.”
Looking ahead, Col Agarwal emphasized the importance of continuously refining preparation strategies, particularly for the upcoming SSB Interview stage. This proactive approach aims to maintain the institution’s momentum of success in future selection processes.
Established in 1922, RIMC has earned its reputation as a leading institution for developing military leaders, having produced generations of officers who have served with exceptional distinction across the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Through its comprehensive curriculum, which integrates academic learning, physical fitness, leadership training, and character building, RIMC consistently upholds the highest standards of military preparatory education in India.
With their latest outstanding achievement in the NDA (II) 2025 examination, RIMC continues to affirm its status as the premier feeder institution for the Armed Forces, devoted to ensuring the nation is protected by the future leaders it shapes.
