A cohort of 25 cadets from the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), along with three instructors, embarked on an educational tour to Shimla on May 5–6, 2026. The primary objective of this trip was to enhance their understanding of both military and cultural environments.
During their visit, the cadets were given the opportunity to tour the Headquarters Army Training Command (ARTRAC). Here, they engaged in a significant interaction with the Chief of Staff, who shared insights on military leadership and the various career paths available within the Armed Forces. This dialogue served not only to inspire the young cadets but also to provide them with a deeper appreciation for the values of discipline and commitment essential for a successful career in defense services.
The educational tour also included a demonstration featuring infantry weapons and communication systems conducted by an infantry battalion. This hands-on experience allowed the cadets to gain practical knowledge about modern military technologies and operational capabilities, further solidifying their interest in military careers.
As part of the itinerary, the cadets had the honor of meeting Kavinder Gupta, who inspired and motivated them to actively engage in nation-building. His encouragement emphasized the importance of individual contributions to the larger goals of the country.
Beyond the military insights, this tour also offered the cadets a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh. By exploring the local culture, the visit proved to be a holistic educational experience, blending military exposure with cultural enrichment.
Overall, the tour exemplified the significance of experiential learning in shaping future leaders, fostering both their professional aspirations and personal growth as they consider their future roles in the armed forces.
