Russia Launches Massive Missile and Drone Assault on Ukraine, Killing Four

In a devastating overnight drone attack, three people lost their lives and dozens were injured in Kyiv, according to the city’s mayor. Reports indicate that multiple Russian drones were active over the Ukrainian capital, prompting officials to urge residents to remain in shelters for safety.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko provided updates on the casualty figures, stating that preliminary reports confirmed three fatalities and 27 injuries, which tragically included six children. The attack specifically targeted residential areas, with drone fragments landing on a nine-story building in the northeastern Desnyansky district, resulting in fires that affected several apartments.

Additional drone debris adversely impacted another nine-story block within the same district, where emergency responders successfully rescued five individuals trapped inside. Moreover, a 16-story residential building in the northern Obolonsky district sustained damage from the attack, leading to further property destruction.

This recent assault follows a series of violent strikes over the weekend, which resulted in four deaths and approximately 20 injuries across the city. Ukraine’s officials have expressed growing concerns about the ongoing threats posed by Russian military operations.

In the backdrop of the conflict, US President Donald Trump downplayed the possibility of a upcoming summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, asserting he had no intention of “wasting” his time on the matter. His comments coincided with discussions between Kremlin negotiators and Trump administration officials, which are expected to continue in the coming days.
