Thematic Apperception Test in SSB consists of a set of ambiguous pictures that will be shown to the candidate, while looking at these pictures candidates must create a theme like a story that requires a hero and a challenge, how the hero will overcome the crisis and succeed.
In TAT a candidate will be asked to write a story on his own based on the images shown. A candidate shouldn’t just use his memory blocks and start preparing a story, he/she needs to see that in every third or fourth line there are different meanings coming, try interpretation and analyze those meanings in the third person because that meaning shows the candidate’s state of mind.

Shikha Kothari, a startup founder in the IT hub of Bangalore is very enthusiastic and concerned about sports and outing as a discipline. After completing her engineering, she diverted to take a challenging route towards the establishment of a startup in the service sector. She is a role model to all her colleagues on account of her decision-making skills, hardworking traits, and attitude to lead by example. Once during her tenure as a founder she decided to take the team to an activity which would be risk taking and give adrenaline rush. She therefore planned a 5 day outing towards Uttarakhand and chalked out a program for all the employees in which they would participate in adventure sports like Skiing, river rafting, etc. In her vision these sports help develop risk taking abilities and make bold decisions which in turn helps in creating leaders for tomorrow.

Naina is a student of St Mary’s Convent High School, Nainital studying in 11th standard. The School is said to be one of the most prestigious institutions of the country. Naina is an enriched academic scholar. She has represented the institution in various competitions like Quiz , debate and sports. She is an avid volleyball player and currently studying Science as majors in the 11th standard. During the science exhibition in that particular year Naina designed a part of technology that could transfer the data using laser from one computer to another. The exhibition had delegates from prestigious DRDO as Chief Guest. The event was well covered with senior dignitaries from the district and media. This particular project attracted the maximum crowd and got a mention in the newspaper next morning. The picturesque represents Naina’s mother showing her the morning newspaper where she got her mention. She felt very proud for her daughter and eventually she was awarded with a special prize in the Exhibition.
