Early Saturday morning, strikes on two Ukrainian cities resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left at least 13 others injured, according to local authorities. As the conflict between Russia and Ukraine endures, these attacks occurred amid heightened global attention on unrest in the Middle East.
The cities targeted were Odesa and Kryvyi Rig, where the strikes inflicted damage on residential areas, a maternity hospital, and industrial sites.
In Odesa, one person succumbed to injuries sustained during the night, as reported by Sergiy Lysak, the head of the cityโs military administration. He detailed that 11 individuals were injured in the incident, including a child. Significant damage was reported at a maternity hospital, along with extensive destruction to high-rise buildings and homes across several districts. Lysak noted that fires ensued in the upper floors of residential buildings, with reports of damaged vehicles, shattered windows, and broken balconies.
Meanwhile, in Kryvyi Rig, two men lost their lives, and two others were injured following a strike that targeted an industrial enterprise. Oleksandr Ganzha, the head of the Dnipro regional administration, reported that the attack led to fires erupting at the industrial site.
Both incidents exemplify the ongoing volatility in the region, as the conflict continues to have dire implications for civilian safety and infrastructure. The response from Ukrainian officials reflects a deep concern over the increasing threat to urban centers and the impact on residents amid the ongoing siege.
