A group of 50 students from the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) recently engaged in an educational and motivational exposure programme, visiting Kharga Sappers to gain insight into military training and operations. This initiative aims to nurture future leaders within the Indian Armed Forces.
During their visit, the students explored the Kharga Sapper Training Area, where they were introduced to a Containerised Indoor Shooting Range. This facility offered a firsthand look at modern marksmanship training methods, enhancing the students’ understanding of the skills and techniques essential for armed forces personnel.
In addition to marksmanship, the group observed demonstrations of specialized engineer equipment, underscoring the vital role that combat engineers play in military operations. This hands-on experience provided practical insights into the diverse functions within the armed forces.
The programme also included a brief tour of the Western Command CBRN School. Here, students learned about the Army’s training and preparedness in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) defense, emphasizing the importance of resilience and adaptability in modern warfare.
Overall, the visit proved to be an inspiring experience that reinforced values such as discipline, leadership, and service. It offered the young aspirants an intimate glimpse into life in uniform, reflecting the Indian Army’s commitment to nurturing and preparing the next generation for careers in the nation’s armed forces.
