A comprehensive joint counter-terrorism mock exercise took place at Indira Gandhi International Airport, aimed at assessing the preparedness of security agencies and enhancing coordination among various emergency response entities.
The exercise involved several key stakeholders, including the Central Industrial Security Force, which contributed its Quick Reaction Team, Bomb Disposal Squad, and specialized Dog Squad, as well as representatives from Delhi Police and the National Security Guard (NSG). Additionally, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation played vital roles, alongside the Delhi Fire Service and the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) teams of Delhi International Airport Limited. Medical services were also integrated into the drill to ensure a comprehensive response.
During the simulation, a complex terror scenario was presented to test real-time response capabilities, inter-agency communication, and crisis management strategies. Personnel from various agencies showcased their ability to work together seamlessly, demonstrating swift tactical responses and effective management of emergency situations.
Officials emphasized the importance of such exercises in addressing evolving security threats and maintaining the highest standards of aviation safety. They reiterated their commitment to ensuring a secure airport environment through ongoing vigilance, routine drills, and coordinated actions among all involved agencies.
