According to the Indian Air Force, a Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet on Monday had to engage an arrester barrier to halt the aircraft due to the pilots’ insufficient deceleration caused by a technical issue.
About the Incident
A probe has been requested. The event, which essentially included the employment of a speed control technique, happened in the morning at the Air Force Station in Lohegaon near Pune following a regular training sortie. IAF Public Relations Officer (PRO), Wing Commander Ashish Moghe, stated, “Today, an Indian Air Force Su-30MKI collided with an aircraft arrester barrier at the Air Force Station, Pune.
The incident happened following a regular training sortie as a result of the pilots’ inability to decelerate properly during the landing roll due to a technical issue. A planned action for stopping a fighter aircraft is engaging an arrester barrier gear.
He said that a probe has been ordered into the occurrence and that the runway, which had been shut down for a while, is now back in use. The IAF station at Lohegaon serves as the base for the civil enclave that is the Pune International Airport. It serves as a base for the primary Sukhoi aircraft of the IAF.
