The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has recently awarded a significant contract to Granzow, a company based in Enköping, to supply up to 160 breathing air compressors designed for diving applications. These compressors play a crucial role in preparing breathable air for various respiratory devices, ranging from scuba tanks to medical breathing equipment, by collecting and purifying ambient air.
Under the terms of the contract, Granzow will provide a range of Bauer air compressor kits recognized for their reliability and performance. The kits will be available in small, medium, and large formats, catering to diverse operational needs within the armed forces. This versatile equipment will be used to fill different types of breathing air cylinders, critical for the military’s underwater and airborne operations.
In addition to the compressors themselves, Granzow will also supply essential accessories requiring for effective operation. These include transport carts and filling ramps that will aid in the transportation and usability of the compressors in various environments and scenarios.
The delivery of these systems is scheduled to occur over the next four years, with the option for a 10-year extension that will help ensure maintenance and support for the compressors installed at multiple facilities of the Swedish Armed Forces. If all provisions of the agreement are activated, Granzow is anticipated to earn approximately 52 million Swedish kronor, equivalent to around $5 million.
FMV Strategic Sales Officer Mattias Alvan emphasized the durability of the compressors, stating that they have a long lifespan. The contract encompasses models that are portable along with larger units intended for permanent installation aboard naval vessels, as well as fixed infrastructure applications, ensuring a wide range of functionality to meet the demands of the Swedish military.
