Who Can Apply for TGC 142?
Eligibility Criteria
- Gender & Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates.
- Nationality:
- Indian citizens, OR
- Citizens of Nepal, OR
- Persons of Indian origin who migrated from select countries with the intent of permanently settling in India (with eligibility certificate, if required).
Age Limit
- Candidates must be 20 to 27 years old as of 01 January 2026.
- Acceptable birth range: 02 January 1999 to 01 January 2006 (both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification
- Must have completed or be in the final year of an Engineering degree (BE/B.Tech) in eligible disciplines.
- Final year students must submit proof of passing the degree by 01 January 2026.
- Candidates whose results are due after this date are not eligible.

Selection Process for TGC 142
- Shortlisting of Applications
- Based on minimum cut-off percentage for each engineering discipline.
- SSB Interview
- Centres: Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bangalore, Jalandhar
- Two stages:
- Stage I: Screening (includes verbal, non-verbal, and PPDT)
- Stage II: Psychology Tests, Group Tasks, and Personal Interview
- Medical Examination
