1. UPSC NDA Entry

National Defence Academy, located in Khadakwasla, is the joint defence service training institute of the Indian Armed Forces, for female and male cadets of the three services i.e. the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force train together(three years) before they go on to respective service academy for further pre-commission training. It is the first tri-service academy in the world. The number of seats for the army wing is around 330-350 each term. Candidates of the age group 16.5-19.5 years(at the time of joining) are eligible to apply if they have completed their class XII or are currently studying in class XII and can procure the mark sheet to date of joining of the respective course. Candidates of any stream can apply for the Army wing.

2. UPSC CDS OTA Entry

The combined defence service examination is conducted under the scrutiny of the Union Public Service Commission. This exam is conducted for the recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military Academy, Officer’s Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. OTA is known as an Officer’s Training Academy. Unlike, the CDS, both men and women can apply for this. OTA is also known as a short-service commission. The candidates who qualify for this can stay in service for 14  years and more if they want to stay associated with the Indian Army. The age limit to apply for the CDS OTA is 19- 25 years. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University to apply for different posts in the CDS OTA exam. 

4. Military Nursing Service (MNS) Entry

Military Nursing Service MNS 2024 Notification –  Applications are invited from FEMALE CANDIDATES (only) who have registered and are appearing for NEET (UG) – 2024 for admission to four years of BSc (Nursing) Courses commencing in the year 2024 at the Colleges of Nursing of Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). Candidates will be selected for admission at Colleges of Nursing based on the final merit cum choice prepared using NEET (UG) – score, Computer Based Test of General Intelligence, General English (ToGlGE), Psychological Assessment Test (PAT) and Interview, subject to medical fitness and vacancies at each College.

5. Territorial Army Entry

The Territorial Army Exam 2024 for civilian candidates for both men and women will be conducted by the Indian Army in the month of September 2024.

Eligibility criteria are Age Limits: 18 to 42 years as on the last day of filing of the application, Educational Qualifications: Graduate from any recognized university, and Employment: Gainfully Employed.

6. SSC Technical Entry

The candidates (male and female) can apply for the various posts in the SSC Technical entry. The candidate, applying for the SSC tech, must be between 20-27 years.

There will be age relaxation as per the rules prescribed in the notification. As for the educational qualification, the candidate must have B.E. / B. Tech degree in any Engineering stream.

7. NCC Special Entry

The Indian army issues NCC Special Entry Scheme to induct capable and deserving candidates (male and female) to the Indian army services. The selection of the candidate will be through the shortlisting process and the SSB process. The age limit of the candidate should be between 19-25 years.

The eligibility criteria for the NCC special entry are as follows:- For NCC ‘C’ Certificate Holders: Educational Qualification. Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years. Those studying in the final year are also allowed to apply provided they have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the first two/three years of three/four years of degree courses respectively. Such students will need to secure an overall aggregate of a minimum of 50% marks in the degree course if selected in an interview, failing which their candidature will be CANCELLED. Service in NCC. Should have served for a minimum of two/three years (as applicable) in Senior Division/Wg of NCC.

8. JAG Entry

Indian Army invites applications for law graduates in Short Service Commission in the Indian Army for Judge Advocate General Branch. Eligibility criteria are as follows Minimum 55% aggregate marks in their LLB Degree (three years professional after graduation or five years after 10 plus 2) examination.

In addition, the CLAT PG Score of the preceding year is mandatory for all candidates (including LLM-qualified and LLM-appearing candidates) who apply for courses starting in a particular year. The candidates should be eligible for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India/State. The candidate should be from a College/University recognized by the Bar Council of India.

9. Army Medical Corps (AMC) Entry

Armed Forces Medical College is a premier medical institute of India acknowledged as a centre of excellence for education and research. The college provides training to undergraduate and post-graduate medical and nursing students with assured career prospects in defence services. First of all, let’s talk about AFMC i.e. Armed Forces Medical College, this college is located in Pune and started as ‘Army medical training centre (AMTC)’ in 1942, later this AMTC, on May 01, 1948, was renamed and reestablished as ‘Armed forces Medical College’, and started its undergraduate wing in 1960. Indian Army recruits both male and female cadets for AMC and Armed forces medical college, Pune is a premier medical institution responsible for training undergraduate and postgraduate doctors. Undergraduate students are selected based on their NEET score and an MBBS degree is awarded to the students here.

10. Army Dental Corps (ADC) Entry

Indian Army will publish the ADC notification 2024 for dental aspirants. Online applications are invited from Indian citizens, both male and female, for the grant of Short Service Commission in the Army Dental Corps 2024.

QUALIFICATION: Candidates must be BDS (with minimum 55% marks in final year BDS)/ MDS having passed from a College/University recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI). He/she should have completed a one-year Compulsory Rotatory Internship, as mandated by DCI & must be in possession of a Permanent Dental Registration Certificate of State Dental Council/DCI valid.

AGE LIMIT: The candidate must not have attained 45 yrs of age.

11. AFCAT Entry

Flying branch: Female candidates can apply for the short service commission in the Indian Air Force through AFCAT. The candidate should be between 20-24 years while applying for the post. Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and Graduation with a minimum of three years of the degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. Or the candidate should have a BE degree. 

IAF Technical branch, Non-Technical branch & Meteorology branch – women can apply for the various posts in the technical branch of the Indian Air Force. They should fulfil the age criteria which is 20-24 years of age while applying for the posts. The educational qualification consists of 

  • Minimum of 50% marks each in Maths & Physics at 10+2 level.
  • Graduates (Three Year Courses) in any discipline from a recognized University who have attained a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR BE/B Tech (Four Year Courses) from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. (OR)
  • Cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
  • Final Year students are also eligible to apply, provided they do not have any backlog at the time of AFSB Testing and produce Degree certificates issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement.

12. SSC officer Entries

The Indian Navy recruits female cadets for the position of Short Service Commissioned Officer by Direct entries. Candidates must meet the qualifying requirements listed below in order to be eligible to apply for positions.

Candidates must be between 19 years and 24 years for Final Year and between 18 1/2 years and 23 1/2 years for Pre Final Year. As for the educational qualification,  Candidates must be studying 3rd year of Engineering for a pre-final year and 4th year of Engineering for the final year in a recognized University with one of the relevant disciplines and must have acquired 60% marks in aggregate.
