In a heartfelt tribute, the Tiger Division extended warm greetings to Subedar Major & Honorary Captain Bana Singh, Param Vir Chakra, on the occasion of his 77th birthday in Jammu. This significant milestone was marked by a ceremony honoring the valor and bravery that Singh displayed during Operation Meghdoot in 1987.
During this operation at the Siachen Glacier, Bana Singh led a courageous assault to capture a key enemy position despite facing extreme high-altitude challenges. His exemplary leadership and tactical ingenuity were instrumental in the success of the mission, which has become a notable chapter in India’s military history.
