Top Aces has finalized a $33.2 million multi-year contract to deliver specialized pilot training for the Argentine Air Force, coinciding with Argentina’s upcoming integration of F-16 fighter jets into its military operations. This initiative comes as part of Argentina’s significant modernization efforts aimed at enhancing its air combat capabilities.
The contract, issued by the US Air Force’s 338th Enterprise Sourcing Squadron and overseen by the Air Force Security Assistance Training Squadron, aims to prepare Argentine pilots for operational duty with the F-16s. This training program is integral to Argentina’s successful transition into F-16 operations, following the purchase of 24 aircraft from Denmark—an acquisition viewed by President Javier Milei’s administration as the most substantial military investment in decades.
After receiving the first six F-16 Fighting Falcons in December of the previous year, Argentina is now ramping up preparations to fully utilize these advanced aircraft. The training regime includes the entire spectrum of F-16 pilot progression, encompassing mission qualification, flight lead upgrades, and instructor pilot training.
The comprehensive program integrates classroom learning with simulator sessions and live flight operations, specifically tailored to meet the operational requirements and configuration of Argentina’s new fleet. Top Aces pilots, many of whom are former members of the US Air Force with extensive experience and flight hours, will conduct the training directly at Argentine Air Force bases.
Steve Haase, the US Group President at Top Aces, highlighted the company’s unique position in this endeavor, stating, “Having built a fully operational F-16 enterprise from the ground up, Top Aces is uniquely positioned to train the next generation of Argentine combat leaders on their new and highly capable F-16 platform.” This partnership marks a pivotal moment for the Argentine Air Force as it seeks to enhance its aerial defense capabilities significantly.
