Trump took to his Truth Social platform to describe the day as “great and very successful,” highlighting what he characterized as positive discussions with both Putin and a late-night phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, along with various European leaders, including NATO’s Secretary General. He emphasized that the path to resolving the ongoing conflict lies in forging a direct peace agreement rather than relying on a ceasefire, which he noted often proves unstable.
Commenting on the continuing violence, the war rages on, with Ukraine reporting that Russia launched 85 attack drones and a ballistic missile overnight, while Russia claimed to have taken control of two additional Ukrainian villages. Zelensky indicated his forthcoming visit to Washington for a meeting with Trump scheduled for Monday, which the President has confirmed will take place in the Oval Office.
