UAE Army Medical Delegation Visits Armed Forces Center for Computational Medicine, AFMC Pune

A three-member delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Army visited the Armed Forces Center for Computational Medicine (AFCCM) at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune on October 30, 2025. The objective of the visit was to encourage collaboration and exchange knowledge related to the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) within the healthcare sector.

The delegation, led by Colonel Saeed Mohammed Abdulla Alardi Alnuaimi, received a warm welcome from Major General Atul Seth, VSM, who serves as the Dean and Deputy Commandant of AFMC Pune. During their time at the facility, the UAE officers were briefed on significant advancements made by AFMC, particularly concerning the integration of AI and ML technologies in medical diagnostics, research initiatives, and healthcare innovations.

To immerse the UAE officers further into the rapidly changing landscape of healthcare technology, the visit included a hands-on coding session. This interactive experience illustrated how computational tools and data-driven methodologies are revolutionizing patient care, enhancing disease prediction, and improving medical training.

The delegation also toured the expansive AFMC campus, which provided them with insights into the institution’s multidisciplinary approach to medical education, its research infrastructure, and its innovative ecosystem. The visit culminated in an interaction with Lieutenant General Pankaj P Rao, the Director and Commandant of AFMC Pune, where discussions focused on potential future collaborations between the Indian Armed Forces Medical Services and their counterparts in the UAE regarding advanced medical technology and research.

This visit serves as a testament to the growing defense-medical collaboration between India and the UAE, underscoring a shared commitment to utilizing technology and innovation to enhance military healthcare capabilities.
