In a significant operational field visit, Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, AVSM, VSM, the Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), assessed the performance of the 92 Base Hospital located in Srinagar’s Badami Bagh Cantonment. This visit was focused on evaluating the hospital’s capacity to deliver medical care under the demanding conditions often associated with combat trauma management.
During her tour, Admiral Sarin inspected several critical facilities within the hospital, including the Trauma Centre, various wards, and different departments. She commended the hospital for its exceptional work, particularly highlighting its vital role in treating combat-related injuries. The 92 Base Hospital has built a strong reputation for its efficiency, characterized by minimal patient transfer times to treatment beds and well-equipped operating theatres that facilitate life-saving surgeries. The institution has also managed to sustain low mortality rates by effectively addressing both combat trauma and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating resilience and commitment in providing dedicated care.
In her address to the gathered officers, nursing officers, junior commissioned officers (JCOs), and other personnel, Admiral Sarin praised their professionalism and dedication, emphasizing their crucial roles in delivering high-quality medical care in a high-stress environment. Furthermore, she visited patients within the facility, offering encouragement and discussing the importance of maintaining a positive outlook in the face of medical challenges.
