Vice Admiral Bhalla Giving Trophy

An impressive passing-out parade took place at INS Rajali, the Indian Navy’s premier naval air station, where Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command, awarded the esteemed Golden Wings to 16 graduating pilots of the 105th Helicopter Conversion Course (HCC) on December 9.

During the ceremony, Vice Admiral Bhalla addressed the newly commissioned aviators, offering heartfelt congratulations on their successful completion of rigorous training. He commended their determination and professional excellence, emphasizing their readiness to take on operational roles within the elite and demanding rotor-wing fleet of the Naval Air Arm. The Vice Admiral highlighted the significance of their achievements as a testament to their hard work and commitment to serving in one of the Navy’s most significant wings.

The newly minted naval helicopter aircrew are set to transition to frontline units of the Indian Navy. In their new roles, they will engage in critical missions, including maritime surveillance, search and rescue operations, anti-piracy patrols, and various other operational deployments crucial to enhancing India’s maritime security.

This ceremony not only marked a significant milestone for the pilots but also underscored the Navy’s dedication to bolstering its airborne capabilities. The focus remains on preparing its young aviators to meet the multi-domain operational challenges that characterize the Indo-Pacific region. The event served as a reminder of the vital role these aviators will play in the ongoing mission to secure India’s interests in an increasingly complex maritime environment.
