The SVAMITVA Scheme was honored with the Gold Prize for its innovative use of emerging technology in delivering citizen-centric services. The year also witnessed substantial strides in training, with 17,96,410 participants benefiting from the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA).

To effectively gauge progress and establish evidence-based policies, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj formed a committee to devise computation mechanisms for the Panchayat Development Index (PDI), laying a robust framework for this assessment. Notably, the Meri Panchayat Application recorded over 13 lakh downloads and 42 Panchayats were honored for their outstanding performance in 2023.

On National Panchayati Raj Day, the Prime Minister inaugurated an integrated eGramSwaraj and GeM portal, furthering public procurement facilities at the Panchayat level. The transition of 2.52 Lakh Gram Panchayats from PFMS to eGramSwaraj and the launch of GS NIRNAY, a mobile application aimed at empowering rural communities, were significant milestones achieved under the leadership of Minister Giriraj Singh.

Moreover, the Ministry developed “mActionSoft,” a mobile-based solution aiding in capturing geo-tagged photos for works with assets as outputs. Notably, 215628 Gram Panchayats have uploaded their Citizen Charters, showcasing commitment towards accountable governance. Additionally, the Gram Urja Swaraj Abhiyaan witnessed 2,080 Gram Panchayats actively implementing Renewable Energy Projects, furthering sustainable initiatives in rural India.

India has revised its NDC, now aiming to reduce the emissions intensity of its GDP by 45% by 2030 from the 2005 level. Additionally, the target for cumulative electric power installed capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy sources has been raised to 50% by 2030.
