15 Tips to Crack English Maths and General Knowledge in AFCAT Exam
Tips for English
1) GRAMMAR PREPARATION: It is very much important to focus on the Grammar part of English as it can be improved only through practice. Grammar includes the following few aspects in itself which should be understand by the candidates in an effective manner:-
- Idioms
- Phrases
- Antonyms
- Synonyms
- Sentence completion
- Re-arranging sentences
- Spelling check
- Spotting the errors, etc.
2)Â VOCABULARY:Â Regular use of English words is very much important for making improvement in it. English newspaper and English news channels are the best example for improving the vocabulary section.
3)Â COMPREHENSION:Â Proper reading is of great importance. Reading section demands the full attention and concentration. Here are few tips that can help in building the more comprehension level:-
- Highlight the important points
- Read the Questions carefully so that answers can be find easily.
- Read thoroughly
- More focus on the starting and at the end.

4)Â SENTENCE FORMATION:Â Sentence formation is very important aspect because it is necessary that the sentence conveys its best meaning. Sentence should be in a clear and concise manner so that it can be easily understandable. Sentence should be complete so that it can be understood.
5)Â USE A DICTIONARY:Â Dictionary is known as the bank of words. It helps in finding out the meanings of different words. It also tells us about the meaning of words in different languages.
Tips for Maths
1) LIST OF FORMULAE:Â Have a list of formulae that are most important and make sure that you memorise them all. Practising them in different problems always helps to crack them.
2) PRACTICE HARD:Â Do not forget the fact that Maths comes only with practice, if you go for exam just my learning the method, in most cases you will end up nowhere in solving the problem.
3) APTITUDE SHORTCUTS: Shortcuts take less time to solve the questions & Puzzles. Use some shortcuts/ tricks by which you can do time management in your exam.
4) SOLVE PREVIOUS YEAR PAPER:Â Solve the last year papers to know which type of questions can come in the exams. Keep a watch besides you to know that how much time you will take in practising.
5) STICKY NOTES:Â Last but not the list, make sticky notes in which you can write important formulas, tricks etc. Have a look on this before the exam.
Tips for GK
1) READ NEWSPAPER: You need to create a habit of studying newspapers consistently. It will be better if you study one paper of your mother language, and other of English. Reading newspapers daily can make life easy in learning General Knowledge.
2) WATCH NEWS CHANNELS:Â Watching the news channel regularly may not be possible but you can watch special current affairs programs of your favorite news reporter for arousing interest in this section.
3) BROWSE INTERNET:Â Google, YouTube and Wikipedia are our best teachers, so you should use all the available internet sources to search current affairs and GK for examinations.
4) READ MAGAZINES:Â Various General Knowledge books/ Magazines are always a good option to have the knowledge quickly and effectively.
5) PRACTICE WITH QUIZ:Â You should get involved in some mock test series that are available on the internet to evaluate yourself.
