On Tuesday, the government appointed Lt. Gen. Anil Chauhan (Retd) as the new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). In May of last year, he had left his position as Eastern Army Commander and was working as the National Security Council’s military advisor. On September 30, General Anil Chauhan will take over as Chief of Defense Staff.
