Mystery Deepens in Disappearance of Indian Army Officer from Kerala

A young Indian Army officer from Kerala, Farzeen Gafoor, has mysteriously vanished while traveling on a train to Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Gafoor, who hails from Kaniyapoyyoor near Guruvayur and serves at the Army Medical College in Pune, was en route for a training program when he lost all contact with his family.

Family members filed a complaint with the Guruvayur police, stating that Gafoor boarded the Ramnagar Express from Bandra on July 9. Up until July 10, he remained in constant communication with his relatives. However, just two stations away from Bareilly, his phone was switched off, and there haven’t been any updates since.

To assist in the search, his relatives, including a brother who is currently employed in the UAE, are expected to arrive in Bareilly by Sunday evening. In their bid to escalate the situation, the family has reached out to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Minister Suresh Gopi, and the local MLA, requesting immediate support.

The Guruvayur police have officially registered a case following the missing person report and are currently collaborating with Uttar Pradesh law enforcement agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding Gafoor’s disappearance.

Concerns about Gafoor’s safety have grown, particularly since he last visited his family three months ago. This incident has sparked calls for prompt action from both the Indian Army and civilian authorities to ensure his wellbeing and secure his return.
