HII Wins $267 Million Contract to Enhance US Navy Training Programs

HII’s Mission Technologies division has secured a significant multiple-award contract valued at up to $267 million to provide essential training products and services for the United States Navy. This strategic agreement enables HII to compete for task orders in support of the Naval Education and Training Professional Development Center, along with various other naval training commands.

The scope of the contract encompasses critical areas such as curriculum development, learning management systems—including Navy e-learning—and various other tools designed to enhance sailor training, career development, and overall force readiness. These initiatives align with the Navy’s evolving mission requirements, ensuring that personnel are equipped with the necessary skills for current and future challenges.

Michael Lempke, president of HII’s Mission Technologies’ Global Security business, emphasized the importance of sailor training and professional development in maintaining combat readiness and force protection. He stated, “Sailor training and professional development are mission-critical, especially when it comes to force protection and combat readiness.” Lempke highlighted that this initiative not only equips sailors with vital technical skills but also facilitates career advancement and lifelong learning opportunities.

HII has been active in delivering training systems and services across various branches of the US military. Earlier this year, in June, the company secured a $379 million contract with the US Army for live training solutions that enhance soldier readiness through realistic combat training scenarios. Additionally, in a previous task order worth $182 million, HII was contracted by the US Air Force to provide support for F-16 training devices, particularly focusing on engineering support for the Mission Tactics Trainer system used in pilot training simulators.

In recent years, HII has also been tasked by the US Air Force to develop a blended training environment that integrates live and virtual exercises. This initiative aims to provide the Joint Training Synthetic Environment, which is designed for collaborative use among US forces and their allies.

The combination of these contracts underscores HII’s ongoing commitment to supporting military training and needs while enhancing readiness and operational effectiveness across multiple defense sectors.
