In a decisive move to facilitate a smooth examination process for the upcoming Combined Defence Services (CDS-II) and National Defence Academy (NDA & Naval Academy) examinations scheduled for September 14, 2025, the District Magistrate of Gurugram has implemented strict prohibitory measures around examination centers.

District Magistrate Ajay Kumar, IAS, exercised his authority under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, to enact a series of prohibitions aimed at maintaining order during the examination period. These measures include:

– Prohibiting the presence of unauthorized individuals within a 200-meter radius of all examination centers.
– Banning the operation of photostat machines and other copying devices during examination hours.
– Forbidding the carrying of firearms, as well as the raising of slogans or displaying placards in the vicinity of the centers.

The restrictions will come into effect on September 13, ensuring that they are in place for the entirety of the examination period.

To enforce these orders effectively, the District Administration plans to widely disseminate information regarding the prohibitions through a combination of public announcements, vehicles mobilized for publicity, and notices in local newspapers. The Gurugram Police, under the oversight of the Commissioner of Police, will be tasked with ensuring strict compliance. Those who violate these regulations will face prosecution under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, as well as other relevant laws.

The CDS and NDA examinations, both conducted biannually by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), are pivotal in selecting candidates for service in the Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The process typically involves a written examination followed by a Services Selection Board (SSB) interview and a medical assessment, aiming to identify qualified individuals for officer roles across various military institutions.
