A tragic incident unfolded in Bengaluru on Sunday when a 25-year-old engineer from the Indian Air Force, identified as Lokesh Pavan Krishna, died by suicide after jumping from the 24th floor of a residential apartment. Lokesh was residing at the Halasuru military quarters and had visited his sister, Lakshmi, earlier in the day. Reports indicate that his mood took a turn for the worse during the visit.
Following this, Lokesh moved to the Prestige Jindal City Apartments, where he tragically took his own life. Local residents who witnessed the incident promptly alerted law enforcement. Police arrived at the scene swiftly, and Lokesh was pronounced dead at the site. His body was subsequently transported to Nelamangala Public Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Authorities have registered a case and have initiated an investigation to explore the circumstances surrounding Lokesh’s death. This incident raises concerns in light of another recent case in Bengaluru, where a 27-year-old woman, Shilpa, took her own life under circumstances her family attributed to dowry harassment.
In light of such incidents, police officials are emphasizing the importance of seeking timely help for issues related to stress, mental health, or domestic disputes. Community members are encouraged to reach out for support if they or someone they know is facing mental health challenges.
