Singapore’s premier defense innovation accolade, the Defence Technology Prize (DTP), has recently been awarded to three distinguished teams that are significantly transforming the training and operational strategies of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).
One of the standout winners is a 15-member team responsible for the development of SAFTI City, an advanced urban combat training complex designed to enhance the capabilities of SAF personnel. This innovative project, which received the DTP Engineering award, demonstrates a commitment to providing soldiers with realistic training experiences reflective of contemporary urban warfare scenarios.
SAFTI City, created with contributions from the Defence Science and Technology Agency, alongside ST Engineering, offers a state-of-the-art environment that allows military personnel to engage in complex combat situations within a densely populated urban landscape. This training site aims to prepare soldiers for the unique challenges posed by urban warfare, ensuring they are adept in tactics and operational maneuvers in such environments.
