The Leadership and Management Course for Junior Leaders recently concluded at the Junior Leaders Academy (JLA) in Bareilly on 15 October 2025. This six-week intensive program attracted participants from various branches of the Indian armed forces, including the Tri-Services and the Assam Rifles. Designed to enhance essential leadership qualities and managerial skills, the course equipped Junior Leaders with the tools needed for decisive action in challenging situations, emphasizing the importance of effective leadership at the grassroots level.

At the closing ceremony, the Commandant of JLA addressed attendees, underscoring the critical role that Junior Leaders play in maintaining discipline, morale, and a clear understanding of their responsibilities within military units. He pointed out that these leaders are integral to ensuring cohesion and operational efficiency, effectively serving as the backbone of military formations.

The event also recognized individual achievements, with Havildar Navin Thapa from 1/1 Gorkha Rifles receiving accolades as the “Overall Best Student” and for being “Best in Theory.” His outstanding performance throughout the course set a high standard for his peers. Additionally, Naib Subedar Mohan Bhausaheb Suryabhan from 6 Maratha Light Infantry was honored as “Best in Communication” and “Second Best Student,” which highlighted his effective communication skills in leadership and remarkable academic results.

This course serves as a testament to JLA’s dedication to developing responsible, confident, and capable Junior Leaders who embody the ethos of service, discipline, and leadership expected in the Indian Armed Forces. The training received was pivotal in preparing these leaders to face the demands of modern military challenges.
