In a significant demonstration of military prowess, the Agnibaaz Division of the Indian Army’s Southern Command executed Exercise AgniDrishti as part of the ongoing Tri-Services Exercise. This event took place in the Southern Desert and highlighted a sophisticated integration of land, air, space, and unmanned intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities within a network-centric sensor-to-shooter architecture.

The exercise primarily focused on validating a new decision support system designed to enhance operational effectiveness. This system seamlessly incorporates drones, counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), electronic warfare assets, and superior airspace awareness, all while utilizing satellite inputs, artificial intelligence, and sensor fusion to deliver real-time multi-domain intelligence.

Several key operational highlights were observed during the exercise, including persistent remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) surveillance missions and weapon-locating radar (WLR)-enabled counter-battery targeting. Additionally, deep insertion missions conducted by special forces detachments significantly contributed to a heightened operational tempo and situational dominance across the theatre.

The event received high praise from Lieutenant General Arvind Chauhan, General Officer Commanding of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, who reviewed the proceedings. He commended the troops for their impressive precision in sensor fusion and fire-control integration. General Chauhan underscored the formation’s ability to achieve both information superiority and kinetic dominance, critical elements in the execution of modern high-intensity military operations.

The successful execution of Exercise AgniDrishti serves as a testament to the Indian Army’s growing proficiency in multi-domain operations. It accentuates the essential synergy between traditional military forces and advanced technological assets, reinforcing the Army’s readiness to tackle future battlespaces characterized by rapid information flow and high-tempo engagements. The exercise not only showcases military capability but also aims to assure national and regional security in an evolving threat landscape.
