Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, recently conducted a review of the operational readiness of the Konark Corps as part of the large-scale field training exercise, Exercise Akhand Prahar. This extensive exercise is taking place in a challenging desert terrain, aimed at testing the capabilities and preparedness of the forces involved.
During the exercise, Lt Gen Seth observed combined arms maneuvers that highlighted the seamless coordination between the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force. This demonstration showcased the high levels of synergy among various combat components, support elements, and aerial assets—critical aspects of modern network-enabled warfare.
A significant feature of the exercise was the integration of next-generation technologies, particularly drone and counter-drone systems, along with refined tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) designed to enhance effectiveness on the battlefield. The adaptability of field formations in multi-domain scenarios was also underscored, ensuring that the forces are ready for a diverse range of potential contingencies.
The Southern Command continues to lead the enhancement of joint operational capabilities and innovation in both tactics and technology.
