Major General Vivek Tyagi Reviews RDC 2026 Preparations

Major General Vivek Tyagi, Additional Director General of the Maharashtra Directorate for the National Cadet Corps (NCC), recently visited the NCC Group Headquarters in Pune to oversee preparations for the 2026 Republic Day Camp (RDC) and engage with the cadets, officers, and staff involved in training activities. This visit served as a significant milestone in the Directorate’s ongoing commitment to excellence, aimed at readying its cadets for one of the NCC’s most esteemed national events.

During his visit, Maj Gen Tyagi received a comprehensive briefing from Colonel Vineet Midha, the Officiating Group Commander. The briefing included the selection process, phased training methodology, and the overall strategy devised to identify and develop high-performing cadets for RDC 2026. The General expressed his satisfaction with the structured and rigorous framework in place, noting that the high standards upheld by the Pune Group symbolize the professionalism of the Maharashtra Directorate.

The General also took the opportunity to inspect various ongoing activities, including drill sessions, cultural rehearsals, physical training routines, and administrative setups. He praised the dedication displayed by the officers, staff, and instructors, commending their meticulous attention to detail and steadfast commitment to shaping cadets into confident and capable performers at the national level.

In a motivational address to the cadets, Maj Gen Tyagi urged them to strive for excellence and embody the core values of the NCC: discipline, leadership, commitment, and a spirit of putting the nation first. He emphasized that the Directorate’s reputation as the Champion Directorate is a source of pride and encouraged cadets to honor this legacy through hard work, consistency, and outstanding performance at RDC 2026.

Additionally, during his discussions with NCC officers and staff, Maj Gen Tyagi explored the Directorate’s expansion plans, the implementation of a revised NCC syllabus, and a variety of upcoming adventure activities aimed at enhancing cadets’ exposure and hands-on learning experiences. He reiterated the importance of strengthening training standards in line with national objectives and the evolving goals for youth development.
