The Indian Naval Academy (INA) in Ezhimala is preparing for the highly anticipated Passing Out Parade (POP) for the Autumn Term 2025 on 29 November. This momentous event marks the culmination of rigorous training for naval cadets, who have undergone an intense and transformative process over the past months. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, a distinguished officer with accolades including the PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, and VSM, will serve as the Reviewing Officer for the ceremony.
The Passing Out Parade is steeped in tradition and represents one of the Indian Navy’s most respected customs, emphasizing the core values of discipline, honor, and professional excellence. Attendees can expect to witness impressive drill formations, precision movements, and the high standards that are the hallmark of future naval leaders.
This year’s parade will feature an impressive lineup of participants, including midshipmen and cadets from the Indian Navy who will march alongside international trainees from several countries, including Bangladesh, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Maldives, Myanmar, and Mozambique. This involvement underscores India’s commitment to fostering maritime partnerships and enhancing collaboration with friendly nations.
The event will be a proud occasion not only for the cadets but also for their families and the wider naval community. Senior naval leadership, dignitaries, and instructors are expected to attend the ceremony, which will include key highlights such as the Review of the Parade, the awarding of medals and trophies to the top performers, and the ceremonial Shipping of Stripes. This final act will signify the commissioning of the cadets as naval officers, marking a significant milestone in their careers.
Recognizing the importance of this event, the Indian Navy will stream the entire ceremony live on its official Facebook and YouTube channels. This initiative aims to ensure that everyone, whether near or far, can partake in celebrating the achievements of the graduating officers and witness this pivotal moment in their professional journey.
