A significant milestone has been reached in the Bhojpur district of Bihar, where Ravneet Kumar from Koilwar Nagar Panchayat has been officially commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army. This achievement has not only brought pride to his family but has also inspired celebrations throughout his village. The accomplishment has particularly uplifted his elder brother, who is now motivated to pursue defence examinations.
Ravneet Kumar, the son of Jagannath Singh—Principal Assistant at the Mental Health Institute in Koilwar— and Kiran Devi, has always been recognized for his academic excellence. His aspiration to join the armed forces was sparked by observing his elder brother’s journey through Sainik School, where he laid a solid educational foundation geared towards a military career.
The path to his commission was facilitated through the Technical Entry Scheme (TES-46), which offers a unique blend of engineering education and military training aimed at Class XII Science students. This route culminates in a Permanent Commission as a Lieutenant, a testament to Ravneet’s dedication and academic capabilities.
His rigorous training began in 2022 when he joined the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya. Following his initial training, he further honed his skills at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad. After successfully completing his training, he passed out as a Lieutenant from the prestigious Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun on December 13, 2025.
Ravneet’s homecoming has led to an outpouring of congratulations from local residents and well-wishers, celebrating not just his success but also the spirit of determination and perseverance that it embodies. His father expressed pride and confidence in his three sons, highlighting that while one has already achieved a significant milestone, his elder brother is now more committed than ever to his preparations for the defence examinations.
The new Lieutenant reflected on his journey, saying, “Seeing my elder brother in Sainik School inspired me. That early motivation and disciplined training brought me here. I will now dedicate myself fully to serving the nation.” Ravneet’s journey appears to be just the beginning as he prepares for an additional year of advanced training at MCEME before assuming full operational responsibilities in the Indian Army.
