Lt Gen DS Kushwah, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) for the Maharashtra, Gujarat & Goa (MG&G) Area, conducted a comprehensive visit to key military installations in Nagpur, Kamptee, and Pulgaon from January 19 to 22, 2026. The primary objective of this visit was to assess operational, training, and logistics preparedness across essential Army establishments.
During his tour, Lt Gen Kushwah led the Military–Civil Fusion Conclave, which was organized by the Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area. The conclave aimed to foster greater civil-military synergy and improve coordination with local administration. This initiative focused on collaborative strategies designed to enhance overall operational effectiveness and strengthen national resilience in the face of emerging challenges.
One noteworthy stop was at the Central Ammunition Depot Pulgaon, where Lt Gen Kushwah evaluated security measures and the logistics framework crucial for maintaining operational readiness. He underscored the significance of robust storage solutions, stringent safety protocols, and efficient supply chain management in sustaining the Army’s preparedness for various missions.
At the Kamptee Military Station, the General Officer inspected the Guard Regimental Centre (GRC), the APS Wing of the Army Public School, and various operational units in the locality. He expressed appreciation for the innovative training programs being implemented for Agniveers, emphasizing how modern training methodologies are pivotal in cultivating disciplined, capable, and future-ready soldiers.
The visit also afforded Lt Gen Kushwah the opportunity to engage with representatives of the JSR Dynamics defence industry facility. This interaction highlighted the Army’s commitment to bolstering relationships with domestic defence manufacturers as part of an overarching strategy to achieve self-reliance and foster technological innovation within the military sector.
Throughout his visit, Lt Gen Kushwah consistently emphasized the critical importance of training excellence, inter-agency collaboration, and continuous innovation. He reaffirmed the MG&G Area’s dedication to upholding high standards of professionalism and preparedness across all formations and establishments, reinforcing the Army’s readiness to meet current and future challenges.
