In a significant development for naval personnel and defence civilians, Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C) of the Western Naval Command, officially inaugurated 300 newly constructed dwelling units at the Karwar naval base. This inauguration took place as part of the ambitious Project Seabird, marking a major enhancement in living conditions for those stationed there.
The modern housing complex showcases world-class amenities and contemporary architectural design, which not only revitalizes the living space but also aligns with the goals of improving the overall quality of life for naval personnel and their families. This project reflects a strategic move towards bolstering infrastructure at the Karwar base, which is recognized for its significant operational importance.
The inauguration ceremony drew notable attendees, including Vice Admiral Rajesh Dhankhar, Director General of Project Seabird, and Rear Admiral Vikram Menon, Flag Officer Karnataka (FOK), along with other senior naval officials. Their presence underscored the strategic importance of this milestone as part of the Indian Navy’s long-term vision for development and modernization.
