A significant event marked the conclusion of the Aviation Technical Course (ATC)-35 and Maintenance Conversion Flight (MCF)-35 Course at the Faculty of Aeronautical Engineering of the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad. The closing address ceremony took place on May 19, 2026, and featured prominent dignitaries and graduating officers.
Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, AVSM, VSM, Commandant of MCEME and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers, addressed the cohort of 22 graduating officers, which included two officers from the Indian Navy. In his address, Lt Gen Varshney commended the participants for their dedication, technical proficiency, and commitment to professional excellence.
He underscored the escalating significance of aerial platforms within contemporary warfare, which is increasingly technology-driven and network-centric. The General Officer further emphasized the evolving nature of modern warfare, which leans towards long-range precision and stand-off capabilities. He encouraged the officers to embrace continuous learning, professional development, innovation, and integrity throughout their military careers—values crucial for navigating the complexities of current and future conflicts.
Academic achievements were spotlighted during the ceremony. Major Mudit Gupta received the Commandant’s Gold Medal for ranking first in the Order of Merit for the ATC-35 Course. Following closely, Captain Anand Jebraj was awarded the Commandant’s Silver Medal for his second-place finish and also received the GOC-in-C ARTRAC Book Prize, recognizing him as the Overall Best Student.
The MCF-35 Course also featured notable accomplishments. Major Mudit Gupta and Major Bishal Paul were both awarded the Commandant’s Gold Medal for excelling in the ALH and Cheetah/Chetak streams, respectively, a testament to their exceptional skills and understanding of aviation mechanics.
Among the practical components of the course, six technical projects were undertaken, with one project standing out. The project titled “Design and Development of a 3D Printed Fixed-Wing Drone,” executed by Major Harshita, Captain Ashish Kumar, and Captain Divyansh Joshi, was recognized as the Best Project. This accolade highlighted the innovation and collaborative efforts of the officers, showcasing their commitment to advancing technical capabilities in the field of aviation engineering.
The ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of the graduating officers but also reaffirmed the critical role of sustained education and innovation in enhancing military capabilities in an increasingly complex global landscape.
