A Passing Out Parade and Valedictory Function recently took place at the National Institute of Hydrography (NIH) in Goa, celebrating the successful completion of the AVR (HY) – 83:647 Course and the graduation of 54 trainees. Among the graduates were four individuals from friendly foreign nations, underlining the significance of international collaboration in naval training.

The ceremony marked the end of an intensive 12-week program designed to equip trainees with essential skills in hydrography—a crucial specialization that underpins maritime navigation, charting, and hydrographic surveys. The training is vital for operational planning and enhancing safety at sea.

The Officer-in-Charge of the National Institute of Hydrography presided over the parade, inspecting the graduating contingent and offering congratulations to the trainees for their hard work and success in completing the rigorous course.

During the valedictory function, several trophies and certificates were presented to outstanding performers, acknowledging their academic excellence, professional skills, and overall contributions during the training period. These accolades highlight the competitive and high-achieving environment fostered at the institute.

The AVR (HY) Course provided a comprehensive curriculum, enabling trainees to gain hands-on experience in hydrographic surveying, maritime data collection, chart production, and navigational support. These skills are critical for ensuring the safety and efficiency of maritime operations.

The participation of international trainees reflects the Indian Navy’s commitment to fostering global partnerships through its training institutions, promoting mutual understanding and professional growth.

Officials emphasized the pivotal role hydrographers play in supporting naval operations, enhancing navigational safety, and contributing to the development of precise nautical charts and maritime infrastructure.

The National Institute of Hydrography extended its best wishes to all graduating Agniveers as they step into the next chapter of their naval careers, reinforcing their dedication to serving the nation with integrity and professionalism.

The successful culmination of the AVR (HY) Course showcases the Indian Navy’s unwavering commitment to developing highly skilled and operationally capable personnel, prepared to meet the increasing demands of modern maritime operations.
