The Army Service Corps (ASC) Mountaineering Team has been officially recognized following their successful ascent of Mt Kang Yatse II, which rises to an impressive 6,250 metres. This achievement not only marks a milestone in adventure sports but also exemplifies the military’s commitment to endurance and resilience.

During a flag-in ceremony, Lieutenant General Mukesh Chadha, AVSM, SM, VSM, who serves as the Director General Supplies and Transport (DGST) and Senior Colonel Commandant of the ASC, honored the members of the expedition. He was joined by Lieutenant General Ajay Ramdev, SM, Colonel Commandant ASC, and President of the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB), affirming the significance of this accomplishment in the realm of military operations and sports.

The pioneering team comprised four officers and eight enlisted personnel, including a woman officer, who together demonstrated exceptional courage, determination, and teamwork amid the demanding high-altitude conditions of the Himalayas. Organized under the aegis of the Northern Command, the expedition was timed to honor the 12th ASC Reunion, thus amplifying its significance.
