Estonia is enhancing its military capabilities by equipping frontline troops with an innovative portable drone-based signals intelligence (SIGINT) system. This development focuses on detecting hostile electronic emitters from a distance, extending the reach of traditional ground-based sensors.
The new system integrates Sky Spy’s advanced SkyAgent 001 SIGINT payload with Orqa’s lightweight MRM2-10 first-person view (FPV) drone. This combination aims to provide troops with a robust solution for identifying threats in real-time during combat scenarios.
During a recent training exercise simulating an electromagnetic attack, the drone successfully pinpointed various emitters throughout the exercise area. This achievement underscores the effectiveness of airborne radio frequency (RF) sensing in enhancing battlefield intelligence capabilities.
