The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Regional Centre-II, operating under the Delhi Area, has launched a dedicated ECHS Information Cell-cum-Help Desk during the recently held Retiring Officers’ Seminar at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi. This initiative aims to provide retiring officers and veterans with essential guidance regarding healthcare benefits, policies, and post-retirement services.
The help desk serves as a centralized assistance point, designed to offer retiring officers accurate information on a variety of beneficiary-related issues. Its establishment will facilitate a smoother transition for military personnel moving from active duty to receiving health support under the ECHS.
Officials stationed at the information cell provided thorough insights into ECHS entitlements, current policies, and operational protocols. Participants received detailed briefings on the network of empanelled hospitals and ECHS polyclinics located across the country, ensuring that they remain well-informed about the medical services available to them and their dependents after retirement.
A significant element of the initiative was raising awareness about the upgraded ECHS Mobile App, recently developed to make healthcare services more accessible. Officers were introduced to the app’s features, which include digital services, easy information access, and enhanced user convenience for beneficiaries.
Additionally, the help desk emphasized the importance of mandatory annual validation of dependents, a crucial requirement for maintaining uninterrupted healthcare benefits under the ECHS. Officials guided attendees through the validation process and addressed queries related to documentation and eligibility to minimize any delays in accessing medical services.
This seminar demonstrated the Indian Army’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of its veterans, ensuring that retiring personnel receive timely information and practical assistance as they navigate their transition into civilian life. By tackling common concerns and streamlining administrative processes, the initiative aims to enhance the overall experience of veterans within the ECHS framework.
Through such outreach programs centered on beneficiary needs, the Delhi Area continues to fortify veteran support systems, fostering greater awareness of the healthcare services available to former servicemen and their families. This initiative reaffirms the Armed Forces’ lasting dedication to those who have served the nation, ensuring that they receive informed support and quality healthcare throughout their post-retirement years.
