Former Indian Army officer Major Rishabh Singh Sambyal (Retd.), who served as Aide-de-Camp to President Droupadi Murmu and became widely recognised as the “national crush,” has joined hands with homegrown streetwear label Bonkers Corner for a dedicated collection. The collaboration appears on the brand’s website under the label “MAJ RISHABH (RETD.) X BONKERS.”
From military service to public attention
Major Sambyal comes from a Dogra Rajput family with military traditions in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. He cleared the National Defence Academy examination in 2013, joined the 133rd NDA course in 2014, and later trained at the Indian Military Academy before being commissioned into the Indian Army.
His service is described as spanning about 12 years. During that period, he served in the Jat Regiment and later with the elite 4 Para Special Forces, referred to as the “Daggers.” As a Captain in the Jat Regiment, he led the contingent that won the Best Marching Contingent Trophy at the 2021 Republic Day Parade. His time with 4 Para Special Forces earned him the Balidaan Badge.
In March 2023, he was selected as ADC to President Droupadi Murmu, a role that brought him into public view through official duties and widely shared moments online. He later took premature retirement in late August/early September 2026, saying it was the hardest decision of his life and that it was driven by family commitments. Since leaving the Army, he has been active in content creation and keynote speaking, with recurring themes of leadership, strategy and high performance.
What Bonkers Corner is offering
Bonkers Corner was founded in 2020 by Shubham Gupta and is based in Mumbai and Thane. The brand is known for unisex luxury streetwear, oversized silhouettes, graphic design, limited drops and collaborations. It also appeared on Shark Tank India Season 5, where it received investment from Namita Thapar, and later raised a Series A round of approximately ₹95 crore.
The Maj Rishabh (Retd.) x Bonkers collection currently includes five pieces. The range focuses more on clean, wearable styling than on heavy graphics: wrinkle-free shirts in Classic Navy, Black and White are listed at discounted prices of around ₹1,699 to ₹2,299, while the Black Stardust Zip Hoodie is priced at around ₹1,999 and the Paisley Canvas Jacket at around ₹2,999. These items are available on the Bonkers Corner website, along with ongoing promotions such as discount codes.
The collaboration also fits the brand’s emphasis on authenticity. Major Sambyal has previously appeared with founder Shubham Gupta, Namita Thapar and Anushka Sen in a Bonkers Corner campaign focused on counterfeits and brand integrity. His message “Earned, not borrowed,” shared recently, also aligns with that theme.

Why the tie-up matters
The partnership brings a former officer associated with discipline, Special Forces service and ceremonial duties into the Indian streetwear space. For Bonkers Corner, it strengthens a strategy built around recognisable personalities and culturally relevant campaigns while keeping the products accessible within the premium segment.
For Major Sambyal, the collection adds another layer to his post-service public work, alongside speaking engagements and digital content centred on mindset and leadership. The collection is currently live on bonkerscorner.com, where customers can browse the dedicated Maj Rishabh section. The brand has not publicly outlined any larger rollout or additional drop details beyond the current listings and related campaign activity.
